Women’s Outerwear: Reduce Fading
When it comes to the outerwear, we choose for our day-to-day lives, we choose names we know that offer us comfort and reliability. When it comes to women’s outwear, coats and jackets are just the tip of the iceberg. There are parkas, vests, shawls, and many other types of popular pieces of apparel worn as outerwear. Do you know the most popular designers for your preferred outerwear?
Companies such as Port Authority, PING, Port & Company, Port Authority Signature, and Cornerstone all offer high quality, reliable, versatile, and durable pieces of outerwear for the woman. These designs are specifically constructed with the woman’s needs in mind ranging from the fit to the color. Each piece of outerwear is designed to offer a complete package to the woman.
No matter what styles you need, you will find it is inevitable that the outerwear will need to be laundered. Laundering is not difficult, but unless special care is taken to launder appropriately, damage can occur to both the outerwear and the equipment used to launder the outerwear. Of course, you may find it is easiest to simply follow the care tag located, usually, on the inside neck of the piece of outerwear.
Consequently, all of those direction or instructions can seem vague at best. One or two lines are generally not sufficient enough to give appropriate laundering instructions. In fact, you will find that the company will often have one generic tag used for all company outerwear. This can be bad especially if the designer provides microfiber, nylon, cotton, or fleece. You launder these differently, and knowing how to launder appropriately should not fall onto the responsibility of the manufacturer.
Reduce the Fading
There is never anything truly attractive about faded outerwear. Many people love faded jeans or pants, but your outerwear is not something you want to be faded due to laundering. Fading is not only unattractive, but fading will also weaken the material itself. You will find there are many ways to get more out of your outerwear, and when it comes to women’s outerwear, men’s outerwear, or even children’s outerwear, reducing the fading speed is going to get you a product that simply lasts longer.
Hot & Cold
One way to avoid fading is to read the label. This will almost always, without fail, tell you whether to wash in cold or hot water only. This is extremely important to insure you launder in the appropriate temperature.
Separate the Darks & Whites
When it comes to sorting clothes, you will find that you will reduce the fading by separating your colors appropriately. If you have one dark color with your white or gray coat or jacket, you will find your once white or gray coat or jacket is now remarkably similar in color to a faded dark color that snuck into the laundry.
Turn the Jacket or Coat Inside Out
Another tip is to insure you turn the coat inside out. This means you have the inside of your coat taking the brunt of the abuse from the washing machine.
When it comes to women’s outerwear, you can rest easy when you insure you follow these three easy tips for laundering your coats or jackets no matter the designer you choose to wear.
