Embroidered Scrubs
Today more than ever, having personalized or customized work wear is a commonality. Whether you have embroidery or patches, that specialty is going to mean you have to take care when laundering your garments. Following the manufacturer’s instructions is not always going to insure your garment’s customization is safe. Of course, the instructions may be perfect for the garment in question, but generally, the customization is done after the garment is designed which means the customization is not included in the proper care instructions. Embroidered scrubs are a good example of how to care for your work wear.
So how do you care for embroidered scrubs? The answer is easy, and the instructions are easy to follow.
Always use a mild detergent. There are many types of detergents on the market today. Make sure you purchase a mild detergent, and if you need bleach, you should purchase colorfast detergent with a bleaching agent. This will help insure your customization is kept top notch for your workplace experience. These can be found at your favorite marketplace in abundance.
Always use the proper setting. Another good tip is to always wash in the cold water rather than the hot. This will insure colorfastness. In addition, you should always launder embroidered scrubs on the delicate cycle of your wash.
Always remove promptly from the wash. Sometimes, people will allow their laundry to sit for a few hours or even days before removing from the washing machine and putting them in the dryer. This is not a good habit for any type of apparel much less customized work clothes. You will want to insure that the threads of the embroidery are not weakened by mildew or mold that can set in.
Never wring out your garment with customization. This can stretch the embroidery. You will find this means you can wash the garment by hand if you desire, but you will not want to wring out the garment. Allow to hang dry to remove stress to the threads. You will also want to use plastic hangers to insure less strain and no staining from metal hangers.
Never rub the embroidery. Yes, it is a natural response to want to rub a spot, but the best rule of thumb is to blot at the spot with a clean, white towel or cloth. Even a napkin will work in a pinch.
When it comes to your embroidered scrubs and proper care, a good heaping of commonsense goes a long way. You will appreciate your garment and customization longer by keeping an eye out for accidents, and being prepared for an accident is always a good rule of thumb. There are many tips and suggestions to great longevity where you favorite garments are concerned, but special care has to be taken where embroidery is concerned.
