7 Tips for Laundering Your Favorite Embroidered Jackets
Regardless of your sense of style and fashion, having apparel that is personalized or customized is always a great way to get that special feeling you get when you have something new just for you. Embroidered jackets have been exceedingly popular for generations. Whether you wear raincoats, lab coats, fire resistant outerwear, or other types of popular apparel, having this personalized attire for your own provides many positive aspects to your day-to-day experience in and out of the workplace experience.
When you have the best by getting or purchasing embroidered jackets, you will want to insure you take special care to not fade, rip, or de-thread the embroidery. This can be a problem when it comes to laundering or removing stains for many people, but sometimes, the answer is a lot more simplistic than first imagined.
1. Always launder your specialty garment inside out. This means the face of the design is on the inside with the threads on the outside. When laundering, having the design on the inside will insure threads do not snag or unravel.
2. If you happen to have a design that has loose threads on the bag, you can actually reinforce this by placing tape or rubber glue over the bare threads in the back. This is going to insure the integrity of the design for longer. If you place tape on the design, be sure that the tape is going to protect without degrading the thread quality or show through the material.
3. Launder in warm or cold water instead of hot. Hot water can be dangerous for the embroidery. Whether you are worrying about shrinkage or even bunching of the thread, hot water is bad news.
4. Remember, the manufacturer’s direction for caring of the garment is generally not taking into consideration the embroidery or design. You will need to take necessary steps to insure the integrity of your garment is sustained over the long haul.
5. If you happen to get a stain or spot on your embroidered jackets, you can blot with a solution of half water and half vinegar. Blot only. In addition, you should never have a brushing motion over the embroidery. If necessary, you can also use a baking soda solution to get some of those tougher stains depending on the type and variety.
6. To prevent fading, you can treat your embroidery in water before laundering. This will set the color keeping it from bleeding or fading. An easy process involving water and vinegar. Never wring out the embroidery! Splotch dry when necessary with a white, clean cloth or rag.
7. If you are uncertain, the best choice may be to take your garment to a professional. You will find reasonable prices and a better garment in the end.
When it comes to your embroidered jackets, chances are good you cherish those designs and patterns. Nothing is quite as professional and unique promoting a better more proficient you. Regardless of the industry, these are designs that simply mean more every step you take. You will look better and simply feel better about life in general.
